Donations
The gift of hearing is not expensive.
- $20 a year will provide batteries
and accessories for one hearing aid fitting
- $35 will purchase a reliable
body level hearing aid
- $300 will purchase an otoscope
- $600 will purchase ear mould
making equipment
- $2000 will purchase an audiometer
- $4000 will purchase a tympanometer
Donations to EARS Inc for overseas work are
tax deductible.
Equipment and maintenance
Equipment is also required to establish clinics for hearing rehabilitation.
EARS Inc. relies on donations of unwanted or no longer needed audiological
equipment. Robust and sturdy equipment is required for it to
remain in calibration during travel and difficult climatic conditions.
Ongoing support is needed for equipment calibration.
Currently this occurs every 2-3 years when an EARS Inc. team visits
for a training course. The team can carry over newly calibrated
equipment and return with the old equipment. It is hoped that eventually,
as audiology as a profession grows in these countries, that the
clinics will be able to find appropriate and affordable technical
services locally.
