Overseas Work

Audiologists in Australia are invited to volunteer their services to travel and provide training for local health workers in hearing assessment and diagnosis, the making and fitting of ear moulds, and hearing aids and rehabilitation.

In return for your volunteer services you will have the unique opportunity to visit a developing country and experience life, not as a tourist, but as a guest of the local people. You will work in co-operation with other established health, aid and other volunteer organisations.

Overseas work is an opportunity to consolidate clinical experience by finding inventive and effective ways of overcoming different issues, due to limited resources, different climates and different cultural issues. Overall, working as an audiologist in a developing country can be a challenging, yet very rewarding experience.
